Fried Chairs...Well Almost!

In my last post there was within some snarky words about fleas.  Well, we have some un-mentionable (I will not name the maker.) office chairs at our dinner table and at my desk that have now been infested.  We have wood or laminate floors and I treat our beds naturally, but these little devils are driving me crazy!

So since I use Borax in the laundry with very HOT water to control them in our clothes and my husband suggested today that we should try his dry box for plastic and heat them for three hours above 150 degrees...I'm for anything right now!  So by 5 PM we will have very cooked, chairs!!!  ;-)

Hey, I'm game for anything right now!

  2. It did - for a while. I hate the way they can make life so miserable! UGH!

  3. We've been sitting on boogie boards at the beach to prevent a similar sand flea rash outbreak. Or at least the kids are. I seem to be immune. Unfortunately I wasn't immune to cutting my big toe pretty bad on a shell while running in the water. Ouch!

  4. It seems to be the worst season all over for mosquitos and fleas from what I've heard. But we finally found an answer for my chairs - thank goodness. The heating of them ended up being the answer...though we had to do it for 5 hours to kill everything! I'm so thankful for that dry box! Hope your sand fleas get less soon, oh, and I certainly hope the toe feels better really soon!

  7. Oh how I hate those bugs!! We did pretty good at the beach last week...mosquito's and biting flies were awful but not too many fleas. I did break 4 fingers in a garage door...typing with one hand is not fun!!

  8. Dry heat eh? That's most interesting. I sure hope I won't have to use that method, and that I'll remember the remedy if I do. Makes me think of table that needed to be cured in a dry-heat-room, for many hours as well. Glad you got rid of that pest! Btw thanks for responding to my blog post about Frisian girls. I've added info. Am curious what your F.I.L's memories our about that era.
